A little bit about me...
It's hard to believe that this year starts my 18th year in education - WOW! From a young age I knew that my second home would be the classroom. When most kids couldn't wait to get out of school each day, I would help my mom grade papers or fingers crossed take an exciting trip to the teacher's lounge filled with copies, hole punching, letter cutting, and Animal Crackers. I would read to my stuffed animals, ask for gel pens in my stocking at Christmas, and anxiously await the time to go back to school shopping. Even today, I still get excited to decorate my classroom, I love the smell of fresh copy paper, and oh my, to get a new set of felt-tip Ubrand pens and a pretty notebook!! Needless to say, when asked "What do you want to be when you grow up?" - a teacher, of course!
Another easy choice was where to go to college... Like many, I dreamed of making my Dad proud and following in his footsteps. I graduated from Texas A&M in 2007 and began teaching at 21. I've had the privilege to teach so many amazing students - from 7th graders to Seniors, Texas History to Government.
I also recently graduated with my MLA from TCU so Gig Em Ags and Go Frogs :)
When I'm not at school, I'm at home enjoying the quiet, country life in Paradise with my husband, Jeremy, and our three boys, Gavin (16), Graham (13), and Grayson (9). I love that I can teach and mentor young women in the city, and then go home to my sweet boys in the country. I also love being at the ballpark and volunteering in my community for a cause that is close to my heart. God is good and I'm very blessed!
