I graduate from the Metropolitan Medical University where I obtained my medical degree. I worked in the medical field for 13 years and earned a Doctorate of Education in 2010. I have 10 years of experience in education, teaching 9-12 Physics, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Food Science, Biology, Principles of Biomedical Science, and Human Body system. In addition to my doctor’s degree, I obtained my Project Lead The Way (PLTW) instructor certification in 2005 from The University of Texas at Tyler. I am currently teaching principles of Biomedical Science and human Body Systems at TABS. I have a wonderful husband, an amazing boy, and 2 sweet dogs. We love spending time riding our bikes, to go for a walk and traveling all over the world.

Welcome to Principles of Biomedical Science (PBS)! In this course Students will be faced with a Mysterious Death, which they will need to investigate to find out why the individual died. In the process of doing this, the students will investigate the human body systems, health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, sickle cell anemia, hypercholesterolemia , pathogens that cause disease, and crime scene investigation. They will also work through different activities that will help them with the investigation process and will also look into lifestyle choices and medical treatments that are available to help prolong life. These activities will take students through human physiology, medicine, nutrition, and research. Students will also be introduced to biological concepts like genetics, metabolism, defense mechanism and homeostasis. Principles of biomedical Science, lays the foundation for other courses in this area. In this course the students will also gain the knowledge and skills necessary for continuing education in the health care industry.
This week we will be getting to know each other, establishing expectations, and be introduced to how to explore a virtual crime scene.
