Born a long time ago, in a place a long long away, over in Virginia, but raised in Dallas, Tx.
I graduated in top 5% of senior class from Kimball High School in Dallas and then immediately went to Mountain View College and earned an associates in Business. For the next 13 years worked in restaurants from Wendy's to Grandy's and full service with Don Pablo's (my store "Ridgmar" finally closed in 2019). While working for Long John Silvers, I went into the Army as a helicopter technician and did the balance of my duty tour as a reservist. I finally earned my bachelors degree in Business from Sstephen F Austin University in 1990. I sold insurance then copiers for Pitney Bowes and got hired away by RadioShack to work in commercial sales with government and educational organizations. While at RadioShack I began and finished my Masters in Education (because in all employments I was a trainer or part of the training management) with the University of Phoenix in 2005 and was immediately hired in another school district. But I had the opportunity to come to Fort Worth at JP Elder in 2006 as a 7th grade core science teacher. After only 2 years, I was asked to lead the POC Science program for JP Elder and accepted. Since then I have taught many interesting branches of science and we are now focusing on Dissection and Forensics.
I have been married to my wife for over 39 years and we have two fabulous children and 2 grandchildren. Sadly they all live way outside of Texas. We have lived in Nacogdoches, Dallas, Burleson, Fort Worth, and now Granbury. I do have two sisters, one lives in Kansas and the other Washington State.
My hobbies are simple. I like to learn and build things. People are interesting and sometimes much more work than expected.
I was, a long time ago, a certified life guard and trainer for the RedCross. I have taught several outdoor sports to include archery, swimming, camping and survival (in tents after a long hike), I hold a 7th degree black belt in Judo and a black belt in Karate.
However my current favorite thing is building custom cabinets and specialty wood products.
