The “fix” for this issue includes the following steps.
Teacher reset password via the Classlink portal app
Student must log into a PC computer using the reset password (FWISD.8digetbirtday)
Student will be required to reset password with the following parameters
12 character
Cannot be anything used the past 3 times
Cannot contain their name
Must have letters and numbers
Must have at least one capital letter
Symbols may be used.
Once the new password is accepted the Student will need to:
Power their Chromebook down ( power cycle not just close lid).
Log in to the Chromebook with their new password
User will be asked to enter their old password:
Note this is the original password they had when they walked into your classroom not the password you reset it to.
Once the Chromebook accepts the user log in they can then access the AVD using the newly created password.
File management is going to be important when using WVD due to the number of courses and students using Google applications and due to the variety of projects that may occur within each course. Teach your students how to create a meaningful system for managing files within their Google Drive.
Most applications do not have a desktop shortcut icon. Use Windows Program menus to locate and launch applications.
Here are the steps:
On your Chromebook, open Chrome.
At the top-right, click More.
Click More tools > Clear browsing data.
At the top, select All time.
Next to 'Cookies and other site data' and 'Cached images and files', tick the boxes.
Click Clear data.
Log into WVD
Sync Google Drive with their @students.fwisd.org (Note the difference)
Open Adobe Creative Cloud
Verify no one is seen as logged into Adobe-
If the user is seen as logged in (top right hand corner of the Adobe window) please log them out.
Log into Adobe Creative Cloud with their @stu.fwisd.org user name (Note the difference)
If they get an update notification simply click no (they may have to click "no" a few times)
When they are seen as logged into Adobe Creative Cloud they can open the desired Adobe product.
Note: if you see the "Add App" notice, our users do not have permission to add apps so please ignore. Simple fallow the steps listed above.
please note the user ID in Adobe CC if users get this error message. Please verify all students are logged into Adobe using the @stu.fwisd.org not the @students.fwisd.org
Students must cancel the video playback before it starts. There is no other resolution at this time.
Every student must log out of the virtual environment as soon as he/she is finished working within the application. Staying logged in to AVD could potentially create a problem due to the limitations of total number of student users allowed at any given time.
