Twenty-four CRHS JROTC Cadets conducted their FWISD annual JROTC Program of Accreditation Inspection on January 23, 2025. Our Cadets scored a 93 out of 100 on the student-led inspection, which consisted of informational briefings, drill and ceremony evaluations, and one-on-one interviews. They have been actively preparing for this inspection since late October, and their efforts paid off with an outstanding result, truly representing the best that Carter-Riverside has to offer.
A group of CRHS cadets traveled to the JROTC National Raider Competition held at Fort Knox, KY to compete against over 300 schools for the title of best Raider.
On September 27th our cadets participated in a series of events to push CCMR. The cadets visited static displays of our military combat vehicles and equipment, college row, and simulators our combat troops use to simulate airborne operations.
Sixteen Carter-Riverside HS Cadets joined over 300 students from the greater North Texas area in Dallas at Lake highlands high school on October 10 to hear over 20 college ROTC speakers present about their programs, and the different scholarships available to them.
Programs that were presented included United States Military Academy at West Point, Marion Military Institute, Howard University, Indiana University, Alcorn State University, Texas A&M, University of Central Florida, Tuskegee University, Military College of South Carolina, Jacksonville State University, Norwich University, Delaware State University, Prairie View A&M, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Texas at Arlington, Florida A&M University, Texas Christian University, and the University of Delaware (19 Universities) Army ROTC programs armed with multiple dedicated, 100% paid tuition scholarships.
Our students were not only some of the most engaged, they certainly were the sharpest looking bunch as they represented FWISD and their CRHS JROTC program for this day-long experience.
On October 14, 2023 Amon Carter-Riverside High School JROTC Cadets participated in a flag-lowering ceremony during the State Fair of Texas.
The evening’s ceremony consisted of lowering, folding, and retiring the National and Texas flags outside of the Hall of State.
In recognition of the efforts and professional conduct, our Cadets were recognized by the event staff with a commemorative plaque, and they were also invited to ride on a train as a member of the nightly parade.
On October 12, 2023 seven JROTC Cadets from the senior class of Amon Carter- Riverside HS attended the ROTC Scholarship Process briefing at Lake Highlands High School.
The informational briefing was led by the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Cadet Command, Major General Antonio Munera, and discussed the process of applying for ROTC scholarships at the collegiate level.
C/CSM Arleth Villegas was recognized for her excellence in her high school academics (6 of 200 in her graduating class), her extra curricular activities to include her success within the JROTC program. C/CSM Villegas was the Cadet Battalion Executive Officer before winning the coveted 1st Brigade C/CSM position in the FWISD District.
Amon Carter-Riverside students and staff came together the morning of September 11, 2024 to honor and remember the heroes and the lives lost on 9/11.
We will never forget the sacrifies made by many and those impacted by this tragedy.
On 10 November 2024, the Carter-Riverside H.S. JROTC spent their Tuesday morning beautifying the school grounds by cleaning up the front, back, and sides of the school.
A special thank you and recognition to Yasmine Arroyo, Daniel, Hector Teran, and , Javier Avelino, who spent several hours planning and ensure this event was conducted properly.
