Get to know Ms. ChacÓn!

Pronunciation Tip: CHUH-CONE (like an ice cream cone!)

Skeg Tash (Good Day)! I'll start off by saying that it's such a privilege to be a part of your school experience this year. My name is Ms. Chacón and I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona (also known as the valley of the sun)! I am Native American and my tribe is Tohono O'odham, which means desert people in English. My tribe is located in southern Arizona and our land is dissected by the U.S.-Mexico border. I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Sociology and minors in Family and Human Development and American Indian Studies. My education enlightened me to the incredible responsibility educators have to their students as future leaders of this world. I wanted to become a teacher because I strongly believe that a dedicated and compassionate teacher can have an incredible impact on a student's life. I LOVE working with youth and watching students grow as learners, leaders, and human beings. I am confident that the upcoming year will be full of challenges, but I truly believe that we have everything in us right now to get where we want to be!
