South Hills High School currently offers 4 traditional Gold Seal programs. Each program highlights valuable student skills such as: problem-solving; teamwork & collaboration; leadership opportunities & career interest/or management. Students are engaged in a "hands-on learning" environment. Guest speakers and various field trips are frequent experiences, providing students with career exploration and possible mentorships. All programs have an assortment of active clubs, competitions (local, state, national), school events/or internships. Upon successful completion of a 4-year program, students can graduate with industry certifications. These essential skills assist students in transitioning from a traditional classroom setting into the workplace environment.
Additionally, South Hills offers a rigorous P-TECH: Web Applications Programming. This is a Technology Early College High School. Students engage in all of the traditional experiences of a Gold Seal program combined with college dual credit. The P-TECH program offers the opportunity for an Associate of Applied Science degree & Web Applications Programming certifications I & II through TCC. Students should be highly interested in computer applications, software and a strong background in math and computer science.
