Kind, optimistic, and resourceful.Helps hide Idrissa and get him to safety. Married to Arletty.

Acting: Requires subtle emotion, warmth, and dry humor.

Arletty — Lead

Marcel’s loving wife who becomes seriously ill. Caring, calm, and supportive.

Acting: Emotional but understated.

Inspector Monet — Lead 

Police inspector searching for Idrissa. Serious, intelligent, and observant. More complicated than a typical villain.

Acting: Controlled and serious.

Idrissa — Lead

Young refugee trying to reach his mother in London. Quiet, brave, and polite. Marcel becomes his protector.

Acting: Strong physical/emotional acting with limited dialogue.

Yvette — Supporting

Marcel’s loyal friend. Warm, outspoken, and helpful.

Adds humor and community spirit.

Claire — Supporting

Caring member of Marcel’s community.

Helps support the characters around her.

Chang — Supporting

Marcel’s quiet and helpful friend.

Represents the diverse community around Marcel.
