I am a graduate of Texas Christian University with a degree in Education— Language Studies. I have additional teaching endorsements in both English as a Second Language and in the education of the Gifted and Talented Child. I have had many additional learning opportunities over the last twenty-five years including Teachers College at Columbia University as part of the Reading and Writing Project and Computational Fluency with our Investigations mathematics program in Boston.

I was a Carlson mother first before I began teaching at the school. My own children were part of the first classes of students attending Alice Carlson when it reopened in 1993 as an Applied Learning Center. I was so excited and encouraged by the education that my children were receiving that I went back to college at thirty to become a teacher. This is my 25th year teaching at Alice Carlson.
