Arts and Culture
Do you love art? Are you curious about other cultures and their art forms? Then come join the Arts and Culture Advisory! We will take field trips to view various art exhibits here in Fort Worth, as well as learn about the cultural significance of different forms or art. You will also research, explore, and create your own unique art pieces.
Robotics
To Bot or not Bot, That is the Question. Come explore building and programming robots of all sizes and descriptions. Who knows? We may create a robot to do your chores or discover great art.
Girls, Inc!
Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold! We will be creating a safe gathering place for girls to learn, share in a sisterhood, and each girl will develop her own capacities, self- confidence, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent.
Musical Theatre
NOTE - This is a year-long Advisory.
The Musical Theatre Advisory is designed to give students the experience of putting on a Broadway musical from start to finish. Student leaders design and create the sets, costumes, props and lights. Students choreograph the show, help direct the show, and run all aspects of the show during performances. Students run the front of house jobs including publicity, ticket sales, and concessions. In one school year, our students gain a real taste of what it takes to produce a quality musical theatre experience in front of an audience. This year's advisory will put on Addam's Family.

Do you love all things technology? Do you crave creating? Is transforming an idea into something real right up your alley? If so, join us for Coding Like Crazy!
Music & MORE Advisory
Compose music of all types with your friends and create podcasts about your favorite subjects! Talk with real composers who write music for everything from concert halls to video games. Take field trips around the area to places like Dallas and Downtown Fort Worth to see professional musicians do what they do! This advisory is open to ALL students.
Unusual Architecture!
Students will design and create their own large 3D sculptures from a variety of materials like cardboard, wood, fabric, paint, etc….it could be inspired by an existing building, a miniature house, a favorite book coming to life, or a wild invention lurking in the corner of your brain. We will be studying installation art and how it can transform a space and provide a memorable experience for visitors. Field trips will be focused on viewing and discussing installation art and its value to the community as well as exploring how to construct in 3D. In addition to individual projects, we will be creating works of art for the school.
International Studies
Let's travel the world virtually and learn about many different cultures. We will eat the food, learn to speak the language, and dress/create clothes from international cultures. We will create art, as well.
Blue Zones
Blue Zones is all about making things happen to make our lives healthier (and more fun!)
We will plan sports tournaments, remodel the Blue Zones Room, plant a garden, run a 5K, and create a social media campaign to inspire others to live healthy—and whatever else we come up with. Together we can make ALA the healthiest school in town!
