About Me!

My name is Raven Hickson, and I'm the librarian here at ALA. This is my 16th year in Education!

I received my degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Christian University in 2008. I also received a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in 2012 from University of Texas at Arlington, and got my Library Media Services certificate in 2019 from Texas A&M Commerce. 

I started my career at Morningside Elementary in Fort Worth, where I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 7 years. Then I moved to Applied Learning Academy to teach 6th grade for 4 years. This year is my 4th year as the Librarian for ALA!

I live in Crowley, TX with my husband Chris, and our twin daughters Cadence and Grayson, who just turned six in September!

In my free time, I love to read, cook, hang out with my daughters, and learn about new, fun technology things!
