There are a handful of people who are available to assist you with questions about technology. We will unpack the roles of each of those people below:
Every campus has a staff member who serves as your designated Campus Technology Liaison (CTL). The CTL performs the following duties:
Manages the Campus Technology Inventory
Supports the use of classroom and teacher technology
Communicates and oversees the Fall and Spring BrightBytes survey completion
Provides technology-related professional learning and support on campus
Your CTL is your go-to person for immediate assistance, but keep in mind that your CTL also serves another role in your school. Most CTLs are either librarians or classroom teachers.
Digital Learning Specialists work for the Educational Technology department. Each Digital Learning Specialist (DLS) is assigned to multiple schools. The role of the DLS is to:
support teachers with effective ways to integrate technology into their instructional practices
provide professional development for teachers
provide additional support needed to integrate technology into daily lesson plans
Your DLS is your go-to person for questions about technology applications or tools as well as for support in planning, teaching, and reflecting upon a lesson. Your DLS will be on your campus from time-to-time, but they can always be reached by email.
Note: Your Digital Learning Specialist is not your contact for technical support. His/her role is to provide instructional support.
