BEM - CREATING THE ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET
In this course, students will learn what makes an entrepreneur thrive and the skills required to succeed in today’s business environment. Students will begin to develop their own entrepreneurial mindset, and learn why it’s important to take initiative, adapt to change, find creative solutions, and understand the financial considerations of entrepreneurship.
This hands-on course will use business software and applications to help students plan and develop their entrepreneurial ideas and learn how to present them to a target audience. Throughout the course, students will enhance their communications skills as well as develop and refine their project management skills, including goal setting, time management, and networking.
BEP - LAUNCHING AND LEADING A BUSINESS
This course introduces students to the world of business and what is required to be successful, ethical, and responsible in today’s economy. Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to be an entrepreneur who knows how to respond to local and global market opportunities.
Throughout the course, students will explore and understand the responsibility of managing different functions of a business. This includes:

This course all of the different aspects that are involved in bringing a product or service to its prospective target market. These include, but are not limited to:

IDENTIFYING MARKET TRENDS
The major project sees the student, and their partners, develop a prototype of a product, create a marketing plan for its creation and distribution, design and create an effective "package" for the product or service, and create both a commercial and a print advertisement for its promotion.
BAF - FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING FUNDAMENTALS
BAF ( Grade 11 Accounting )
Grade 11 Accounting introduces students to the fundamental principles and procedures of accounting. Throughout the course, students will develop the kinds of financial analysis and decision-making skills that will assist them in future studies and/or career opportunities in business. Through the various units of this course, students will: acquire an understanding of computerized accounting and financial analysis; learn how to process accounts for both service and merchandise-based businesses, as well as develop an understanding of current ethical issues in the field of accounting. Students will develop an understanding of the connections between financial analysis, control and decision making in the management of a business, as well as the effects of technology on accounting procedures and the role of the accountant.
BAT - FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES
BAT ( Grade 12 Accounting )
Grade 12 Accounting introduces students to advanced accounting principles that will prepare them for post-secondary studies in business. Students will learn about financial statements for various forms of business ownership and how those statements are interpreted in making business decisions. This course expands student’s knowledge of sources of financing, further develops accounting methods for assets, and introduces accounting for partnerships and corporations.
BBB INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS FUNDAMENTALS
This course covers all the aspects of a business that must be taken into consideration when a Canadian company wants to take a domestic product or service into the international market. These include, but are not limited to the following topics:

Cultural Differences ( Business Etiquette / Perception / Language / Religion )
World and Target Market Economics
Marketing ( Advertising / Channels of Communication /Positioning / Product Design and Modification )

Politics and Local Governance
The final project for this course is based on the exploration of all the factors that need to be taken into consideration when expanding an existing Canadian product to a foreign market. Students will present their findings to the class using both presentation software and an in person group oral presentation. BOH - BUSINESS LEADERSHIP
This course provides an excellent foundation for those students that aspire to someday join the corporate world as an executive, or plan to someday launch their own business. It also provides the basis for the various projects that they will undertake at the university level no matter what discipline they plan to pursue.

IDC4U SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT MARKETING
Sport and Entertainment Marketing (IDC4U) is designed to provide students with an in-depth introduction to the fundamental principles and practices of marketing within the evolving sports and entertainment space.
Integrating elements from English, Business, and Physical Education curricula, Sport and Entertainment Marketing offers a comprehensive exploration of marketing strategies, management techniques, and their real-world applications across both amateur and professional sports and entertainment events.
Students will examine ethical considerations, consumer research, and legal issues, alongside core topics such as consumer behaviour, product development, and event marketing.
Through a combination of individual and collaborative projects, students will engage with current industry issues, conduct research into real-world scenarios, and explore diverse career paths within sports and entertainment marketing.
Emphasis will be placed on cultivating advanced skills in communication, research, critical thinking, and decision-making, thereby equipping students for success in post-secondary studies and future careers in business and sports marketing.

DECA
DECA consists of a group of highly motivated students who compete in the annual business competition. The club helps members develop leadership, communication and problem-solving skills through hands-on experiences. In addition, it teaches students about the business world, with events ranging from marketing to finance.

Junior Achievement

The JA program provides students with unique real-world experiences while creating and running a company.
