What should I do I prior to the exam?

Once you have registered for the exam, please complete the TOPS on Bloor student profile. Click the Student Profile link below.

Personal information contained on this form or general information collected on behalf of the Toronto District School Board regarding the student is collected under the authority of the Education Act and in compliance with sections 14, 31 and 32 of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and will be used for education, transportation and health and safety purposes. My child has an IEP and requires accommodations for the entrance exam

Once you have registered for the exam, obtain a current copy of your child's IEP. This should be scanned and forwarded to Kathleen Craigie .

In order for the appropriate accommodations to be in place for your child, please ensure that this document is forwarded by November 28th, 2019.

What do I bring to the exam?

A completed TOPS on Bloor application package which consists of

1. Final Grade 7 report card (June 2019)

2. Optional Attendance Form 545B signed by a middle school administrator and/or the Elementary Guidance Counsellor.

The 545B optional attendance document will be posted below when it becomes available.

  • If your child does not attend a TDSB Middle School, you will need to get the form signed by the administrator at your local TDSB Middle School. You can find your local TDSB Middle School on the TDSB website, under Find My School .
  • Application to Specialized Programs is made directly to each program based on Optional Attendance. Schools must collect Optional Attendance forms as part of the application process for all specialized programs BEFORE entrance exams.
  • Students applying to the TOPS on Bloor program and also requesting optional attendance for the Regular Program at Bloor C.I. must submit a 2nd signed optional attendance form indicating Bloor C.I. as their Regular Program choice. The Regular Program optional attendance request may be brought to the exam or submitted to Bloor C.I. by 4:00 p.m. on January 31, 2020.
  • If you do not live in Toronto, then this form does not need to be signed.

3. Pencils, pens, non-programmable calculator, nut-free snack, water.

4. Two signed and sealed letters of reference for students WHO ARE NOT ATTENDING A TDSB MIDDLE SCHOOL at this time.
