Pictello
Use Pictello to make interactive, multi-media books, communication passports, projects, social scripts and other emergent literacy activities. Text-to-Speech or recordings allow students to listen to each page read aloud. Pictures or video can be added to each page to increase student interest. Teachers can use Pictello to support students to learn independent life/adaptive skills, read books with support, write books with visual and writing support, and access personalized stories. Pictello is accessed by using the touch screen and is also a switch accessible app for students who use one or two switches.
It can help students who may require support with:

Reading a Pictello Story (and switch access)
The Reading a Pictello Story tutorial describes how to read a book in Pictello. It also includes instructions for switch access. Students can use one or two switches to read Pictello books. For more information on using switches with the iPad please refer to the Alternate Access page: Switch Access.

Creating a Story in Wizard Mode
The wizard mode walks you through creating a story step-by-step. Tap the “?” buttons to hear instructions. Tap the speaker buttons to listen to the text you’ve typed. Students may use this mode to create stories using the Pictello app.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I add photos from my iPad photo library to my Pictello book?
If you are making a book and can't access the photos on the iPad, you need to give Pictello access to your photos.
To give Pictello access:
1.Go out of the Pictello app.
2. Go into settings for the iPad.
3. Scroll down on left side and touch Pictello.
4. Touch Photos and give access to 'All Photos.'
5. Now go back into Pictello and you will be able to add photos to your books.
Why do I only see 2 options for voices in Pictello?
To add more voices:
In Pictello, open settings (gear in the bottom right corner of main page in Pictello)
Go into Voice Manager.
Turn on "Show Downloadable Voices." Now you will see more options for voices that you can download for free.
Download the voices you want.
These new voices will now be available when you are creating books.
