Keedogo

Keedogo is a simplified iPad keyboard designed for students who  are learning to read, write and type. The keyboard provides a simplified layout with just the essential keys so early writers can focus on developing their skills rather than being distracted by symbols and functions they don’t yet need. Different layouts, themes and options are available.  Use with the typing feedback accessibility feature to make this keyboard even more supportive for your early emergent writers.

It can help students who may require support with:

Activating the Keedogo Keyboard

When you open the Keedogo app you will see instructions for activating the keyboard in the iPad settings.  You only need to activate it the first time you use it.

Once the Keedogo keyboard is activated, open the standard iOs keyboard.  To open the keyboard you can open the Notes app or Google Docs and click on a blank note or doc to type. The keyboard will pop up.  Press the globe button  (bottom left of the keyboard) to toggle through the keyboards to get to the Keedogo keyboard.

Options in Keedogo

To find the options menu within the Keedogo keyboard, go to the number page (bottom left of Keedogo keyboard)

Then select the settings button (bottom right of Keedogo keyboard).

Setting up Keedogo with Typing Feedback

Turning on the typing feedback in the iPad accessibility feature Spoken Content is a great way to provide text-to-speech feedback when using the Keedogo keyboard.  You can turn on character and/or word feedback so that students can hear letters and/or words as they type.  More information is available on the Typing Feedback Accessibility Feature page.
