Big Bang Pictures

& Big Bang Patterns

Big Bang Pictures and Big Bang Patterns are cause effect apps that have been developed for students with visual impairments to teach cause and effect and visual skills through pictures and patterns that have been designed to provide a range of visually stimulating activities with a choice of bold colours and movements.  These apps are accessible by touchscreen or switch.

It can help students who may require support with:

CAUSE EFFECT (ONE SWITCH) The simplest way to start using a switch with the Big Bang apps is by setting the switch to send a mouse click to play cause and effect activities.  If you have a switch and a switch interface that sends a mouse click (e.g. switch adapted mouse, switch adapted trackball, switch click, Don Johnston etc.) you have what you need to get started. Watch this video demonstration to learn how to set up a one switch cause effect activity in the Big Bang apps.

MAKING A CHOICE (TWO SWITCHES) Adding a second switch gives the student more control over the app. Using 2 switches with the Big Bang Apps, allows students to make choices. One switch will move through the different animations. The second switch will play the chosen animation. You will need a switch interface that accepts two switches and sends a space and enter key (e.g. Don Johnston, Blue2 etc.). Watch this video to learn how to set up a 2 switch choice making activity in the Big Bang apps.
