"Best Part" Assignment:

For this assignment, grade 11 students were tasked with editing a song of their choice down to one minute. Grade 12 students were tasked with editing together two or three songs into a one minute mash-up.

"Drum Sample" Assignment:

For this assignment, grade 11 students were tasked with adding drum samples to their choice of three songs. Grade 12 students added drum samples to a song of their choice.

"Loop Mix + FX" Assignment:

For this assignment, grade 11 students were tasked with creating a short piece using premade loops in C (or Am). They then needed to explore and add FX like EQ, Reverb, and Delay to their work.

Podcast Assignment:

For this assignment, Gr. 11 students worked in pairs to write, record, mix and master a short podcast episode.

Synth Cover:

For this assignment, Gr. 12 students chose a song to cover with synthesizers.

Songwriter

For this assignment, Gr. 11 and 12 students were given a melody, bass line and chords to recreate with MIDI and/or live instruments. They also added their own B section material.
