The guidance department at Leaside High School is a supportive space and resource for students.  Its purpose is to support students throughout their high school years and help them with the process of identifying, developing, and meeting their academic, career and personal goals.

Our school guidance program is based on three core beliefs:

Academic & Career Counselling

Through individual counselling and group activities, the guidance department at Leaside helps students to identify their strengths and interests, explore opportunities, and achieve established goals. The guidance department supports students through the course selection process and their individual pathway planning.

Personal Counselling

Our guidance counsellors are available to support Leaside students when personal issues arise. We also work closely with in-school support services (such as our social worker and our child and youth counsellor) as well as external community agencies.
