3. What if my child doesn’t like their placement?
If your child doesn’t like their placement, it’s best to uncover why. If it’s because they’re feeling uninspired or experience too much down time, this acts as a good learning opportunity because sometimes jobs have downtime. Together, we will come up with solutions about ways they can find joy and engagement in their placement. If, however, their placement feels unsafe for any reason, we will pull out your child and find them a new placement.

Ultimately, it is your child’s responsibility to get to their placement. This means that they can arrange a ride with you, take public transit, walk, bike, etc. While we always try to secure placements in the school’s immediate area, some of our placements will often require students to travel far. Co-operative education teachers are not responsible for ensuring your child gets to work.
