Hi everyone, here is a brief summary of what I am all about. It may surprise some of the students that teachers have an actual life outside of the classroom!
I was born in Toronto and have lived here all my life. I attended Cloverdale PS, Wedgewood PS, Bloorlea MS and Burnhamthorpe CI. I have a Hotel and Restaurant Management Diploma from George Brown College and I am a trained chef. I graduated from Lakehead University's Teacher Training Program in 1996 and have now been a full time teacher for 22 years.
I have two lovely daughters who are in grades 9 and 12 at Etobicoke School of the Arts and one awesome partner who is also a teacher. I have two cats, Weasley who is named after Ron in Harry Potter due to his awesome orange fur and Tibby who is named after Tibby in the book "The Clever Cat". The final member of our household is our French Bulldog Matilda. She was adopted from the Humane Society and has Epilepsy.
In my spare time I love to do anything outdoors. I trail run and race, mountain bike, rock climb and explore the world's natural spaces. Fun fact, I am one of only a handful of Canadians who have run across the Grand Canyon, in Arizona and back in one day! It is the called the R3 for Rim to Rim to Rim and I did it solo with no outside assistance. Set your goals high and go for them! Amazing things can happen.
Matilda in all her glory!
