The Forest of Reading is a Canadian recreational reading program that celebrates Canadian books, authors, illustrators, and publishers.
Each program features a selection of ten titles, allowing students to dive into the diverse stories and voices that Canadian literature has to offer. Readers can opt to tackle all ten titles or select the ones that spark their interest—flexibility is key!
In order for students to cast their vote in April and help decide the winners, they are encouraged to read at least five of the ten titles. This voting component not only makes reading a more interactive experience but also empowers students to have a say in which books resonate with them the most.
The Forest of Reading is more than just a reading program; it's an opportunity to explore and appreciate the creativity and talent found within Canadian literature. By engaging with a variety of genres and styles, readers can expand their horizons and discover new favorite authors and illustrators. Whether you’re a lifelong reader or just starting to explore, there’s something for everyone in this celebration of Canadian literature.
Happy reading!
