In October 2018, our Humberside Book Talk Video Project began with one book, two eager teachers, and a small team of volunteer students. The intent of the project was to encourage students to read by example; for students and staff to see teachers reading a variety of books; to make visible the often solitary experience of reading silently; to revisit our commitment to being lifelong learners who are curious about the world beyond our classroom walls.
After enlisting willing Humberside educators to select a book of their own choosing, prepare a brief book talk script, and agree to a scheduled video recording session, we are proud to present a uniquely Humberside collection of teacher book talks.
This project would not be possible without the hours of planning, location set-ups, and post production editing by Mr. Libedinsky (behind the camera), students who briefly aided with editing and credits design, and the musicians; teachers Mr. Nomura and retired teacher Mr. Teskey, who composed and interpreted an original sound track for this project.
Welcome to Book Talks, and keep reading!!!
