Obviously other subjects appear more practical, but the study of Latin is the study of expressing ideas in English. Everyday, we critically consider how to articulate the thoughts, expressions, and opinions of distant authors. By the time students graduate from Grade 12, they are able to speak and write with a power and intentionality that is rare. You may not notice when people have this skill, but you definitely notice when they don't.

Regardless of what your child studies, at some point they will find themselves in an interview, filling out a grant application, making a wedding toast, or delivering a eulogy. In these most important moments all they will have are their words. It makes sense to practice using them. »
