Peer Tutoring will begin Thursday October 9th in room 216!
This program, run through Student Success, provides valuable opportunities for students to learn with and from their peers. The staff advisors for the peer tutoring program are currently busy selecting their team of peer tutors (grade 11 and 12 students). Once the Peer Tutors have been selected and trained, Humberside students who are interested in receiving tutoring support (in any subject) can complete the request form.
Offers 1:1 Peer Tutoring support students in core subjects from grades 9-11, and some for grade 12 (as our tutors are also in grade 12).
Drop In Sessions - Thursdays at lunch in room 216. Students can drop in if they want help with their work.
As parents/guardians if you have any questions, feel free to contact Sarah Bumstead, ACL Student Success sarah.bumstead@tdsb.on.ca, or Mallory Léger, Peer Tutor Staff Advisor & teacher mallory.leger@tdsb.on.ca.
Our school offers daily math help support through drop-in sessions, one-on-one support, and online resources. Daily math help is provided by our HCI math department.
Students are welcome to visit any math teacher for support.
We also offer a Drop In JR Math Cafe in room 206 which is open to grade 9 & 10 students to work on their math homework and get peer and teacher support as they deepen their understanding of the math concepts they are learning. Please encourage your child to take advantage of these opportunities to build their confidence.
Humberside students can access literacy support during Tuesdays at lunch in room 302 from the English Department.
