Primary Soccer 2025/2026
Senior Students have organized an opportunity for primary students to play soccer during lunch hours. If your child has signed up, please remind them to come to our first meeting this Friday, November 28 at 12:15 in the auditorium. If your child is in daycare, please inform daycare that they will be joining this new "club" for the month of December.
*This is a student-led initiative so please be patient while we are still working out some details.* Thank you!!
Here are some details in the meantime:
Primary soccer important info
Your coaches will come get you from the cafeteria at 12:15
There is a schedule telling you what days you will be playing
Wear running shoes
You will not play every day
The games will be 20 minutes, each half is 10 minutes long
If you have an allergy you need to tell your coaches as some coaches will bring snacks for their teams (eg. orange slices, watermelon…)
The schedule will be posted outside the auditorium.
We will be playing five versus five
You and your coaches will decide what your team name is
Half time will be five minutes long to grab snacks and water

Fern Choir 2025/26
Yay! The choir is starting! We invite any interested students from grades 1 to 5 who like to sing to join us on Wednesdays at 12:15 in the music room. We will pick up Primary students from the lunchroom. If a student is in Ferncliff, parents need to let daycare know they have permission to attend. Regular attendance is important.

Newspaper Club 2025/26
Newspaper Club meets every Friday at lunch in the library. If you are interested in contributing to our student newspaper, The Falcon, please join us or reach out to Mr. Dumont (josh.dumont@tdsb.on.ca) or Ms. Matijevic (nansy.matijevic@tdsb.on.ca).

Dance Club 2025/26
Dance Club meets in the auditorium. We have added new members and to have everyone rehearse together, our new practice times are
12:15-1:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Auditorium!

Guitar Club 2025/26
Ready to rock out? Guitar Club meets every Monday at lunch in the Music Room (007). Don't let the name fool you: if you sing, play drums or play another instrument and want to play rock/pop music, come down and join the guitar and bass players. Eco Club 2025/26
Eco Club will meet every Wednesday at 12:15 PM in room # 209 starting in November. The club is open to all students from Gr. 3 to 8.

Black Student Association
BSA will meet every second Wednesday from 12 pm-1 pm in Room 201. The BSA is student-led and will begin with self-identifying Black students from Grades 3-8. The teachers will be facilitators only and will be there to listen, provide feedback, offer resources, and encourage student voice.
The main purpose of this group is threefold:

build community with each other
experience cultural pride and joy
CULTIVATE CRITICAL CONSCIOUSNESS AND AGENCY IN STUDENTS
provide a space to talk about difficult experiences and find support and healing from their peers.

Kids Lit Quiz 2025/26
Kids Lit Quiz will meet Wednesdays at 12:15 PM in the library starting in December. The club is open to all students from Gr. 5 to 7.
The Kids' Lit Quiz is an annual literature quiz for students aged 10 - 13 years. Come test your book knowledge and compete against friends! Contact Mme Moore (carlyn.moore@tdsb.on.ca) or Mme Duquette (kyla.duquette@tdsb.on.ca) if you have any questions.
