Our Philosophy

The ECI Science Department believes the importance of preparing students to critically evaluate the conceptual foundations and real world impact of science by providing an enriching learning experience for students that have the following:

• In Person Lab Experiences

The ECI Department offers a wide variety of in-person lab experiences to enrich the learning experience for all our students. Through these labs, scientific concepts come to life.

• Passionate Curriculum Delivery

In all of our courses we offer a stimulating and challenging curriculum to help prepare our students for post-secondary education. Most of our students have an easier transition from high school to college or university, because of how in depth our educators teach the subjects.

• Technology

ECI currently has eight classroom/labs with certified equipment. Students will use technology as part of their learning experience to help them gather and analyze data. This enriches the students’ lab experience, while allowing for the collection of more accurate data.

• Diversity of Teaching Strategies

A wide variety of teaching strategies are used to provide learning opportunities to accommodate a variety of learning styles, interests and ability levels. Some of these include investigations, hands-on activities, field trips independent reading, dissections, problem solving, research projects, direct instruction and differentiated instruction.

• Extra Help Sessions

Our Science Department provides extra-help sessions outside of class time. We recognize that the concepts taught in class can sometimes be complex and that students may require additional support.
