New Grade 9 Math course

 MTH1W is the new Grade 9 Math course with focus on coding, data and financial literacy. Grade 9 students will be taught how to assess financial situations and learn how to make life decisions by using applicable math skills. Students will use coding to model algebraic concepts and algorithms, decompose them into step by step calculations and solve problems. 

The main strands of the MTH1W course: 

Strand A: Social - emotional learning and mathematical thinking 

Strand B: Numbers 

Strand C: Algebra and Coding 

Strand D: Data 

Strand E: Geometry and Measurements 

Strand F: Financial Literacy
