The Ontario Mathematics Curriculum provides detailed learning expectations for many different math courses. Course Outlines for each course are linked below.
This course is designed to help students deepen their understanding of mathematical knowledge and skills that will be important for their learning when transitioning between MTH1W and MPM2D, while gaining necessary tools and skills for the workplace of tomorrow. Through integrated activities related to career exploration, experiential learning, and entrepreneurship, students will have an opportunity to improve their understanding of foundational mathematical concepts and skills. This course will be an interactive and engaging experience to help students gain transferable skills for continued learning and work.
Students will broaden their understanding of relationships and extend their problem-solving and algebraic skills through investigation, technology, and abstract reasoning. They will explore quadratic relations and their applications; solve and apply linear systems; verify properties of geometric figures using analytic geometry; and investigate the trigonometry of right and acute triangles. Students will reason mathematically and communicate their thinking as they solve multi-step problems.
