BTT1O Course Description

This course introduces students to information and communication technology in a business environment and builds a foundation of digital literacy skills necessary for success in a technologically driven society. Students will develop word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, presentation software, and website design skills.Throughout the course, there is an emphasis on digital literacy, effective electronic research and communication skills, and current issues related to the impact of information and communication technology. 

Working with Microsoft Office and Google

Students will be introduced to the Microsoft Office Suite  with a focus on advanced features of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Also learning how to better use Google and Google Apps for education to organize their digital world.

Collaborative Project Based Learning

Through the CCi Innovation program - BTT focuses on Projects that are integrated with the Science and English Curriculum in Grade 9.  Students explore STEM through a dynamic and integrated learning lens.


Communicating Through Technology

Students will be prepared to better use technology to communicate using tools to create dynamic digital work.


Beyond BTT

This course will allow students to not only excel using computer applications, it will improve their work  in all of their courses throughout High School and beyond!
