UN Convention on the Rights of a Child

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child (The UNCRC) is a treaty that exists to protect children's rights for children up to the age of 18. Almost every country in the world has signed the UNCRC, 196 nations to be exact. Canada signed the UNCRC in 1991. The UNCRC consists of 54 children's rights. UNCRC article 31 focuses on children up to the age of 18 to give them the right to have fun and play, whether it's watching a movie or playing a game or a sport.
