Co‑operative Education is a program that lets students try out a career and earn secondary school credits through a work placement, while integrating classroom learning with real-world experience.
This program is available to Grade 11 and 12 students.
You may enroll in Co‑op more than once, though it’s often recommended to explore career interests through this program in grade 11.
How Does Co-op Work?
Pre-placement classes focus on preparing students with essential skills such as resume building, interview techniques, workplace health and safety, and employment legislation. These sessions help bridge the gap between academic theory and professional readiness.
Students attend their placement, for either 3 hours in the morning, or 3 hours in the afternoon, and earn 2 credits. A 4-credit option is available, in which students would attend placement all day.
