Gene Regulation of Ethanol metabolism

There are 17 two component systems were found in A. baumannii. EmaSR was found to regulate ethanol and acetate metabolism in this lab.

There are 17 two component systems were found in A. baumannii. The interaction between ZraS and GacA or ZraR was one the project we are working on . Meanwhile, we found one pair of TCS might regulate the function of alcohol metabolism. 

There are 7 genes were annotated as alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) in A. baumannii. All of them were annotated as NAD+-dependent ADH. Three of them are iron-containing ADH and three of them are zinc-containg ADH. Only one of them are short-chain ADH. We are working on the elucidation of  the function of all of those genes.
