We believe there is a direct relationship between a student’s appearance and his conduct, attitude and seriousness of purpose. Clothing worn by students shall reflect modesty, moderation and neatness. Clothing should not draw undue attention to the individual. Therefore TCS has adopted a required school uniform.
All students will be informally reviewed each morning by staff and faculty who are directly responsible for monitoring adherence to dress code by TCS students. Parents will be contacted by phone and may be required to bring a change of clothing.
The following are established consequences for repeated violations per semester:
1st violation All Grades Warning, violation is documented and an alert is sent in Jupiter-Ed, but no consequence
2nd violation Grades K-2 Parents contacted
Grades 3-12 Violation is documented with a Detention (30 minutes)
3rd violation All Grades Violation is documented, Parent Conference, and possible Detention
ELEMENTARY (K-5) UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
SHIRTS/BLOUSES
Shirts/blouses must be a solid color. Approved colors are: white, navy blue, light blue, and gray.
Must be a polo-style (collared pullover, knit shirt with 2 or 3 buttons), oxford shirt or collared blouse (collared and buttons down the front). These can all be short or long sleeved.
Oxford shirts must be tucked in for chapel.
Un-tucked shirts must not be longer than the bottom of the visible seams of the pants/shorts pockets.
TCS t-shirts are acceptable only on Fridays and announced Spirit Days.
PANTS/SHORTS/SKIRTS/SKORTS/JUMPERS
Uniform pants/shorts/skirts/skorts/jumpers must be solid navy, khaki, or gray, comparable in style and substance and matching in color to those from the official uniform guide. Girls may wear French Toast brand Blue Gold Plaid (color code BLGP) skirts, skorts, and jumpers. Blue denim pants/shorts/skirts/skirts are allowed on Fridays.
Shorts/skirts/skorts/jumpers/dress length must be moderate: no more than four inches above the knee.
No shorts/skorts allowed on chapel days. Administration may allow boys to wear shorts for chapel in August and in May if temperatures warrant. Only when announced by the administration.
CHAPEL DRESS (Wednesdays)
To avoid confusion, chapel dress is required every Wednesday, whether there is chapel or not. Any deviation from required chapel dress on a Wednesday will be announced by administration.
Chapel clothes must be worn all school day (students may change for afterschool care).
Boys K-5th Grade: white or navy polo and navy blue or khaki uniform pants.
Girls K-5th Grade: Trinity plaid jumper with Peter Pan collared white blouse OR white or navy polo and Trinity plaid skirt.
FRIDAY DRESS K-5
Blue jeans with a TCS logo shirt or uniform shirt are allowed only on Fridays. The first Friday of each month (unless otherwise specified) is “Dollar Day.” Students are allowed “Free Dress” upon payment of $1 to their classroom teacher. Clothing must still be modest and appropriate.
Please note: special allowances/privileges made for middle school and high school dress code do not apply to K-5 students.
MIDDLE SCHOOL (6-8) & HIGH SCHOOL (9-12) UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED DAILY
Uniform pants/shorts/skirts/skorts must be solid navy, khaki, or gray, comparable in style and substance and matching in color to those from the official uniform guide. Girls may wear French Toast brand Blue Gold Plaid skirts, skorts, and jumpers. Blue denim pants/shorts/skirts/skirts are allowed on Fridays.
A solid, long or short sleeve polo in: white, navy, lt. blue, or gray, or long or short sleeve, oxford, pin-point, dress shirt or blouse in: white or lt. blue comparable in style and substance and matching in color to those from the official uniform guide.
Note: A uniform shirt must be worn under any hoodie or sweatshirt.
SUPPLEMENTAL
Any cardigan, pullover sweater, or sweater vests worn in class or chapel should be solid navy or gray.
All hoodies, whether pull-over or zip-front, must be solid navy or gray, with no logo other than a TCS logo. Hoodies, but not hoods, may be worn in class and in chapel. Any hoodie worn in chapel MUST have the TCS logo

Fridays add: blue jeans, blue denim, TCS spirit shirts (K-12) or any witness or ministry shirt (witness and ministry shirts apply to MS/HS only).
Free Dress Days will be by announcement of TCS Administration.
MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL P.E. UNIFORM
The official TCS P.E. uniform (available from our authorized PE uniform provider) must be worn with proper athletic shoes. Solid
navy blue or gray sweatpants, sweatshirts or sweat jackets, with the TCS logo, are allowed for cooler days when determined by the PE Teacher or Athletic Director.
Note: A PE uniform shirt must be worn under any hoodie or sweatshirt.
General rules:
Shorts, skirts, skorts, dresses and jumper length must be moderate: no more than 4 inches above the knee.
No low-cut (front or back) shirts or tops. No more than top 2 buttons undone.
No sleeveless, tank, or spaghetti strapped tops.
No gaps between tops and bottoms (no midriff showing).
No see-through, lace, or laser cut fabrics.
High heels must be of reasonable and safe height for school. No flip-flops, sandals must have a heel strap.
Hats, caps, or beanies may not be worn indoors.
No costumes or parts of costumes i.e. ears, tails, crowns etc.
TCS Administration reserves the right to final judgement in any question of appropriate dress.
OTHER DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS (all grades)
OUTER GARMENTS
Sweaters and sweatshirts or sweat-jackets, that are worn in class, must be solid navy blue or grey, with no logo other than a TCS logo. Coats and other jackets may not be worn in
class. All coats, jackets and outerwear are to fit properly. Coats and jackets are not required to be uniform.
SHOES/SANDALS
Shoes must be laced up and tied at all times and must be worn with socks. No heels over two inches high (K-10) allowed at school. Tights, nylons, or leggings must be solid colored and coordinate with uniform colors. Sandals, flip flops, Crocs (K-10), cowboy boots and heelies are not allowed as a matter of safety.
JEWELRY/MAKE-UP
No earrings or studs on boys at school or any school sponsored functions.
Excessive jewelry is not allowed.
Excessive make-up is not allowed.
The rule of thumb is moderation in all things.
HAIR
Hair must avoid extremes in styles: punk styles, radical cuts, designs or names cut into the hair, partial shaving, tails, or other radical fads.
No extremes in hair coloring allowed. Administration decides what is “extreme” (basically if it is what makes an individual too noticeable, it is extreme). Natural hair colors are acceptable.
Hair must be kept out of eyes.
Boys’ hair may be no longer than the bottom of a dress shirt collar in the back, no longer than the earlobes on the sides, and may not stand up or out more than 3” from the scalp. Boys may not wear their hair in ponytails or buns.
STYLES, FADS, MISCELLANEOUS:
No head coverings of any type can be worn at school without permission from the office.
No Tattoos, body, nose or tongue piercings (except ear piercings for girls) Excessive ear piercing will be determined by the administration.
Boys may not wear earrings or ear plugs at school or any school sponsored / school related events
Since styles and fads come and go, no list will ever be sufficient to cover the possibilities, therefore, in matters of inappropriate dress/attire/appearance, the judgment of the teacher and administration will be the final determinant in acceptability for the overall appearance of the student.
WHEN ON CAMPUS, INCLUDING AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS & EVENTS, DRESS CODE MUST BE FOLLOWED
