Students recently brought coding and creativity together during the Sphero Parade! Using programmable Sphero robots, students designed and built their own miniature parade floats and then coded the robots to drive them through a parade route.
This hands-on STEM activity allowed students to explore coding, engineering, and problem-solving while also using their imagination to decorate and personalize their floats. From colorful themes to creative designs, each float showed the unique ideas and teamwork of our students.
The Sphero Parade was a fun way to combine technology, creativity, and real-world engineering, giving students an exciting opportunity to see their coding skills come to life.
Students put their creativity and research skills to work by creating a digital escape room centered on the mystery of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. After learning about the historical events, students designed clues, riddles, and puzzles that challenge players to uncover what might have happened to the missing colony. The project encouraged collaboration, problem solving, and deeper exploration of early American history.

Students turned science learning into music and video! While studying the North Carolina science standards, students worked together or alone to write lyrics, and create videos that explain important scientific ideas.
These projects help students deepen their understanding of science while using creativity, teamwork, and technology. I am proud of their hard work and excited to share their learning!

Our 4th and 5th grade AIG Enrichment students at RES are taking part in the North Carolina Stock Market Game. This is where they research companies, track stock prices, and make investment decisions just like real investors. What makes this even more exciting is that they are competing against middle and high school teams from across the state!
