My Story

After growing up in Western New York, I escaped the cold, snowy winters to move to Raleigh and begin my teaching career in 1997. During my 18 years in Raleigh, I taught in a self-contained 5th grade classroom as well as math and science as part of a 5th grade team. I also served as an Instructional Technology Facilitator for many years.

After many years of discussing moving to the mountains to enjoy our family and all the wonderful beauty and activities the mountains afford, my wife and I decided the time was right. With our two sons we packed up and made the move. I began working at Brevard Elementary before moving into the TCS Online Path, middle school social studies at Brevard Middle School and now back to 5th grade at Rosman Elementary School.

Our family loves this small town and beautiful area. We love being able to see Pop Pop whenever we want, as well as all the area has to offer for hiking, biking, river rides, our screened-in porch overlooking the woods, and very few traffic signals.

Sadly, our older son Jameson passed away unexpectedly in February, 2019. I work every day to honor Jameson with his joy, his work ethic, and his wonderful spirit.
