I have been teaching music at RES and TCH since 2005 and I LOVE my job!
I am married to an Asheville firefighter and we are blessed to have two amazing daughters.

I design our music lessons so that there will be something for everyone in each lesson. There are always songs to sing, music to move to and "play time," meaning playing instruments or playing a musical game. We also work on learning how to read a rhythm pattern and a melody pattern in every lesson.
All grade levels get to use a variety of rhythm instruments, xylophones, bells and Boomwhackers. Third graders learn the basics of playing the piano. Fourth grade students learn how to play the recorder using a fun program called Recorder Karate. Fifth grade students learn the basics of playing the guitar. We also have a beautiful set of dulcimers that is used by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.
We have several performance opportunities as well for those students who love to be on stage- the annual Holiday Program, All-County Chorus, and our school Talent Show.
