The purpose of this program is to encourage reading, expose students to various genres of literature and to have a friendly reading competition. 

All rising 4th and 5th grade students are encouraged to join the 23-24 Battle of the Books Team!

These books were chosen by the North Carolina Library Media Association for the entire state.

COPIES OF BOOKS ARE IN PFE LIBRARY AS WELL AS THE COUNTY LIBRARY!

Some books may be found on audiobooks or ebooks at the Transylvania County Library. Click HERE for a "how to" tutorial on how to borrow these books. 

***An assessment covering all books will be given in March to team members. Students that have the highest scores on the quizzes will compete more heavily during the final competition. If the team exceeds 12 members, then the top 12 highest scorers on the quiz will be allowed to compete. ATTENDANCE to practice WILL BE a factor in competition participation.***
