Brevard Middle School

Hello! I am a native of Transylvania County. My roots go back to some of the founders of this county. I have experience teaching at BMS and BES, grades K-8, and formerly an Assistant Principal at Rosman Middle & High schools as well as Brevard High.   

Education is a commitment by a community. This area has a STRONG community! Students are our #1 priority and we will do what it takes to help them succeed. Looking forward to growing & learning with each new day!

Mr. Toms was raised in a small town in Florida, and spent his high school years in rural Kentucky.  Upon graduating from USF in Information Systems he began teaching computer science at the high school level and worked in the schools as a network and technology specialist.  Mr. Toms has also worked as a firefighter/paramedic, and spent over 10 years teaching in the North Carolina community college system to help students become firefighters, EMTs  and paramedics.  

Mr. Toms lives here in Brevard with his wife and two sons.  In addition to teaching computer science he has also been coaching youth soccer since 2012 and currently coaches the Boys and Girls soccer teams at BMS.
