How The Rifle Range Is Set Up
Shooters will be shooting the .22 Cal. rifle at a distance of 50 feet. On the range the targets which are 30"x40" are hung in front of a dirt berm which the shooters shoot into. Shooters will fire five rounds from a total of four different positions. A time limit of three minutes is allotted for each position. The first position is "standing". They will shoot at five different targets upon the Range Safety Officers orders. Once completed they will move to the "kneeling" position and fire five more rounds. The last two positions are "sitting" and "prone". Each shooter will fire a total of 20 shots for a total score of 200 with a possible (20 X'S). The target center hole is 1/4" in diameter and represents an X. In 1/4" increments the target's radius gets larger and scores 10 - 9 - 8 etc..until it is deemed a miss.
