I'm a 2018 graduate of Western Governor's University.
I began teaching my own children 17 years ago in our small home school, and this is my 12th year teaching in a formal setting.
I'm licensed to teach special education K-12, and general education K-6. This is my first year in the public education system wearing my 'gen ed hat', so I'm very excited to be joining your students in the 1st grade here at BES.
I live in Lake Toxaway with my German Shephard/Husky mix, Hank, and my York Chocolate fluffy cat, Black Bart (Burt).
I love a daily trip to the river (any of our many will do) as well as hiking with Hank.
I feel extremely blessed to live in Transylvania County where my family has been for generations.

BES uses the CKLA curriculum for ELA and Writing. It also touches on Science and Social Studies themes to cover a broader range of content. For math we use the enVision program with supplemental work to reinforce our learning standards.
I believe that all students are life long learners who should be encouraged to work hard and give themselves their best because they are worth their best. Every day is a great day in our classroom!
