Teacher Bio

Originally from the Mid-Hudson Valley area of New York, I now call western North Carolina my home.  After moving down to the Raleigh area and finishing both high school and college there, I decided to raise my family in a more peaceful environment and chose the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.   

My family includes my husband, my two sons, my bonus son, and my dog, Xena.  I love to read, explore the forests around me, watch and cheer on my boys in whatever sports they are involved in, and bake.  I also love flamingos.  

I recently decided to finally pursue my true passion- working with students and helping them become successful, so I went back to school and received my masters degree in special education.  I believe that every child can learn, and it is our job to meet them where they are, encourage them, protect them, nurture their creativity, and respect their individuality.           

I am so excited to be at Brevard Middle School, and I cannot wait to meet my future students and their families and see what amazing things we can accomplish together this year!
