Teacher Bio
I am originally from New Jersey and graduated from college there at The College of New Jersey. I began my teaching career as an elementary classroom teacher in La Paz, Bolivia and in New Jersey before teaching ESL. I taught ESL in Winston-Salem, NC and at a local community college in NJ before moving to Western North Carolina. When I am not teaching, I love to run, hike, and travel with my husband.
I feel incredibly fortunate to work at TCS. I love working with the students, teachers and families in the district.
Soy de Nueva Jersey. Me gradué de La Universidad of Nueva Jersey, y enseñé los estudiantes de Kinder, Segundo y Tercer grado en La Paz, Boliva y Nueva Jersey. Antes de mudarme al oeste de carolina del norte, enseñé Ingles como otra idioma en Winston-Salem, NC y en un colegio comunitario. Cuando no estoy enseñando, me encanta correr, caminar y viajar con mi esposo.

Bienvenido a mi clase!
Currently, I travel throughout Transylvania County to support all language learners. I work with Kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. My classes are structured to allow students to learn and progress in English through the use of academic content.
I understand the struggles and the joys of learning a new language since Spanish is my second language. I strive to create an environment where students feel willing to make mistakes. Bilingualism is an asset, and I strive to develop students who are fluent and confident in both their native language and English.
Actualmente, viajo por todo el condado de Transilvania para apoyar a todos los estudiantes de idiomas. Trabajo con Kindergarten hasta el 12º grado. Mis clases están estructuradas para permitir que los estudiantes aprendan y progresen en inglés mediante el uso de contenido académico.
Entiendo las luchas y las alegrías de aprender un nuevo idioma ya que el español es mi segundo idioma. Me esfuerzo por crear un entorno donde los estudiantes se sientan dispuestos a cometer errores. Bilingüismo es una ventaja, y me esfuerzo por desarrollar estudiantes que tengan fluidez y confianza en su idioma nativo y en inglés.
