Curates Digital Resources and Tools

Curates Digital Resource and Tools Leads in selection, intergration, organization, and sharing of digital resources and tools to support transformational teaching and learning and develop the digital curation skills of others.

Here is what I am currently doing in this focus area: Having 5th- 7th grade students use Google Slides. Keeping the subscription databasesa and links to free vetted academic resources current on the library website.

Here is what I want to do in this focus area: Use technology curation tools to promote Middle School and High School Battle of the Books - website based information for students and parents. Use the TV monitors outside each library display curated digital artifacts created by students.

Here are my goals for this year in this focus area: Successfully use Google Slides with 5th and 6th grade students. Begin to use the TV monitors as a showcase for digital curation of student work.

Here are my goals in next year and beyond in this focus area: Update the Tri-County Area Library website to include links to MS and HS Battle of the Books. Use video clips, slides, and digital photos of student work to document learning and keep curated online. Keep co-teaching and reinforcing ELA standards during Library classes with middle school teachers. Teach digital/media literacy class for 7th graders. Teach digital/media literacy to a high school class once a year. Continue teaching website evaluation to sixth grade as part of Mrs. Smith's research unit. Continue to support reluctant readers by offering HS and MS read alouds on a weekly basis.
