Auditions
Audition Information
Auditions for the Fall 2023 Semester are now closed. Thank you to all who auditioned this year!
Audition Preparation
Please prepare two solo songs (a verse and a chorus each; approx. 30-60 seconds/16 measures long) of contrasting styles that will showcase your voice well.
We advise that you do not choose musical theater or classical pieces since those are genres that we do not perform.
If you are auditioning for Vocal Percussion...
Please prepare to perform about 16-24 measures that exhibits your full kit (fills, rhythmic complexity, speed, dynamic contrast etc.)
Please also prepare 2 measures of each of the following time signatures at no less than 100 BPM: 4/4, 3/4, 5/8, and 7/8.
Day of Audition
Auditions will be held in the Music Building.
When you arrive there will be signs and people telling you where to go.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your audition time to complete an audition sheet.
Audition Time!
The audition will consist of 5-15 minutes (a 5 minute interview/get to know you portion and a 5-10 minute vocal audition)
The vocal audition may include scales, a blending exercise and tonal memory
