"Restorative justice is a philosophy and set of practices aimed toward centering student well-being and positive social relationships in the classroom. Restorative pedagogies offer an approach to teaching/learning that seeks to remedy persistent patterns of punitive and exclusionary school based practices." (Alexander 3).
About the Project:
The goal of this project was to focus on pedagogical strategies that are rooted in equity and justice. We chose to analyze restorative justice pedagogy and how we can use it in our classrooms.

History Secondary Ed 2026
Hi, I'm Ayden Isbirian, a Junior Secondary Education History Major. I chose this major not only for its subject matter, but also for the impact I can make on the youth within the classroom. I have known for a while that teaching has been my calling, which is why Sarah and I chose this specific topic, as it details how we can create a better classroom. This website will detail how we, as a society, can implement effective practices to better foster relationships with students in the school and enhance childhood development.Â
History Secondary Ed 2026
Hi, my name is Sarah Renz and I am a Junior Secondary Education History Major. I chose to go into education because for me, school was one of the only places I felt like I had a purpose. My teachers made me feel wanted and important and I want to be that for someone else. Ayden and I chose to work together on this because of how we can implement restorative justice into our own future classrooms to enhance childhood development like he said, but also to create those safe spaces children need.
