Dr. Dale Graham was a 1965 graduate of Thomasville High School and obtained her bachelor's degree at Valdosta State University. She loved education so much that she went back to Valdosta State University to receive her master's degree and then to Florida State University to earn her doctorate in education.
Education wasn't a hobby, but a lifelong passion. She taught every possible age group. It was not uncommon for her to tutor students in her home or over the phone, even after she was no longer their "teacher." She dedicated over 50 years of her adult life to helping everyone have their "ah-ha" moments.
This mathematics tournament is a way to honor Dr. Graham for her commitment to Thomas County Schools and the advancement of mathematics in our schools and community.
The Dr. Dale Graham Mathematics Tournament will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Thomas County Schools Board Office. Participants will complete a 45-minute test based on their division, either Middle School (6th-8th grade), JV (9th and 10th grade), or Varsity (11th and 12th grade). Teams will consist of at least 5 students with a maximum of 8 students. Team scoring will be based on the 5 highest individual scores on the team. The top five individuals in each division will also be awarded.
