Welcome from TCIS Head of School

Dear APAC Badminton Participants,

On behalf of the Taejon Christian International community I welcome visiting athletes and schools to the 2023 APAC Badminton Tournament. Welcome to the wonderful city of Daejeon and the dynamic country of Korea, we are excited and honored to host this event.

Athletes will find that the tournament will provide opportunities for personal and athletic growth, competing as individuals and as part of a team. Participants are encouraged to play their part to the best of their abilities remembering success is not only measured by results on the court but how they conduct themselves on and off the court. I encourage participants to commit to presenting the best of themselves during the tournament and to intentionally engage with others in establishing new friendships.

The Taejon Christian International School Secondary Administration is excited to welcome you to APAC Badminton! It is exciting to be able to gather as a community of international schools in Asia and to celebrate our student athletes. We welcome athletes, coaches, athletic directors, and supporting community members. So much work has gone into preparing for this week at every school by so many athletes and coaches, and so much support has been shown by families and supporting staff. It is a privilege for TCIS to host this event.

Participants, we hope that you will take time to build relationships, compete well, and learn from the shared experience of a tournament at this level. Most importantly, we hope that you will feel genuine love and care while you are here at TCIS.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you all to our campus for the 2023 APAC Badminton Tournament! After having just hosted APAC Band, I am thrilled to have all of the schools back again, this time for athletics! As a school community, we are confident that you will have a wonderful time building team bonds, playing competitive matches, enjoying watching and learning from other players, meeting up with old friends, making new ones and having an unforgettable experience. We are so honored to host all 5 of the Asia Pacific Division Schools and we hope and pray your time here is uplifting and exciting.

As we welcome you this week, please reach out to any of us with any needs you may have. We hope you feel welcome and comfortable and that you make our home your home for the time you are here with us in Daejeon, South Korea. Can't wait to see some exciting badminton matches!

On behalf of our Badminton Varsity team, I would like to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you attending the TCIS sponsored APAC Badminton 2023. It gives us great pleasure to have all of you here to participate in this competition and to support your players.

We are so humbled and grateful to have this opportunity to host this event at this special post COVID season. We believe that sports bring people together and promote a sense of community. At TCIS, sports are an essential part of a student’s life, as it promotes teamwork and discipline, and it builds character. We hope this tournament will provide a platform for students to not only showcase their badminton skills, but also learn from each other and build long-lasting relationships. Together we can do better.
