Physical Education (PE): General physical education for boys and girls shall be concerned with the development of physical fitness and the learning of skills. The program provides each student with opportunities to develop skill and understanding in a variety of sports activities, with daily exercise designed to help students develop and maintain physical fitness for their age. The student is evaluated on the basis of skill in each sport, knowledge and strategy, rules, history, and terminology in each sport, and behavior in terms of participation, health, and safety practices.
Pre-Athletics: Pre-Athletics shall focus on the development of physical fitness and the learning of skills for a variety of athletic programs offered at the Junior High level. The program provides each student with opportunities to develop skill and understanding in a variety of sports activities, with daily exercise designed to help students develop and maintain physical fitness for their age. Course focus will include: flag football, basketball, volleyball, softball, gym games, and other fitness activities as well as the fitness program.
