Why use Google Docs instead of Word or paper?

Google Docs allow for collaboration and interactive learning. Through Docs you can:

  • Collaborate with others - without needing to sit in groups or be anywhere near one another.

  • Create HyperDocs - interactive documents that ask students to go beyond just typing out answers by incorporating a variety of learning modalities, asking students to check for understanding along the way, and build critical thinking skills

  • provide immediate feedback on student work

  • peer editing with guided support - link to other resources, spelling and grammar info, examples of correct answers directly from student work

HyperDocs are a great way to add interaction and additional levels of critical thinking and student interaction to your lessons.
